If you know me, then you know I spend more time reading than not. And boy was that true for 2024! I read 260 books last year (at least, according to my GoodReads) and I’m going to share my top 10 favorite books with you guys. Forewarning, pretty much the only genre I read is Romance, so don’t come for me when almost all the books in this list are Romance.
10. Magnolia Parks: The Long Way Home (Magnolia Parks Universe, #3) by Jessa Hastings

This series was SO GOOD. Honestly Jessa Hastings knew what she was doing while writing these books, but The Long Way Home was by far my favorite. I actually hate every character in this series, and I’m thinking that’s a purposeful writing decision, but if not, so sorry Jessa. I couldn’t put this book down and there were so many different turns and plot twists that I couldn’t see coming. Highly recommend!
9. Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

THIS. BOOK. I cried, of course. This book really got me and I keep recommending it to everyone. I didn’t think the plot twists were obvious (could just be me) and so every time something happened that I wasn’t expecting, my jaw was on the floor. This book is just so heartfelt and truly should be read by everyone. It’s such a wonderful display of companionship and kindness and finding your community.
8. Until August (Love and Chaos #3) by Emery Rose Andrews

This book will absolutely make you sad. But it’s SO GOOD! Truly love a good romance book (duh) and this one was all of the feelings and all the emotions rolled into one. Emery does such a good job of getting you to know the characters that their pain is your pain and all you can do is keep moving forward. I love this book so much and I will likely end up rereading this whole series this year.
7. Hook Shot (Hoops #3) by Kennedy Ryan

Oof this one’s a tough read. Lots of sensitive topics and of course read the content warnings if you’re not sure if you can handle it, but if you can, then READ THIS BOOK NOWWW. I adore this book. Kennedy Ryan brought this story to life in such a beautiful way and I regularly think about this story and these characters. You will feel every emotion while reading this book, but I can promise you won’t easily forget about it, it’s that freaking good.
6. Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan

STUNNING. This book is so well written and holds so much value in teaching kindness and empathy towards others. Such a unique story that I personally couldn’t put down even if I tried. There’s definitely a few plot twists I didn’t see coming, which made the story all that much better. I LOVE this book and I really do think that if you’re a romance fan, this is a necessary read.
5. Funny Story by Emily Henry

Safe to say that is by far my favorite Emily Henry book to date. I mean this was truly everything I love in a rom-com book. I love Daphne and Miles so much and their story is so cute. If there were rules on only reading one Emily Henry book again, I’d choose this one, it was that perfect. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
4. Fall With Me (Playing for Keeps #4) by Becka Mack

HEART HEART HEART THIS BOOK! Favorite book of the series FOR SURE. I mean enemies to lovers, close proximity circumstances, playboy to prince, he falls first, I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! The two main characters are some of my favorites. Their banter and relationship is so realistic and I will forever tell people to read this series, one, but especially this book!
3. The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros

I cried wayyyy too hard while reading this, but I can promise you’ll be doing the same once you read it as well. This book HURTS. Like I felt this pain deep in my chest, but the love in this book balances it out so beautifully. Such a sweet and heartfelt storyline, UNTIL THE LAST 20%! Wear your waterproof mascara and don’t finish this book in public. Also, love that it was set in small town Colorado (I ❤ CO).
2. Binding 13 and Keeping 13 (Boys of Tommen #1 and #2) by Chloe Walsh

Alright, so I know this is kind of cheating because it’s two books, but it’s the same couple in both, so I’m going to count it as one book. ANYWAYS. Every single Romance fan MUST read these books at some point in their life. I regularly think about this series, but more specifically these two books. Johnny and Shannon have my whole entire heart and the slow-burn love between them is stunning. There’s some sensitive topics in these books, so be wary if you have concerns about tough content. I think these books are actual perfection. Chloe Walsh you are my GIRL!
1. Windy City Series by Liz Tomforde

So I want to acknowledge that I know that this is very much cheating to have four books at my #1 spot, but I won’t apologize for it because these are my favorites books EVER. I read this series 3 times last year, and I swear it got better every time. Every single character, interaction, book playlist, etc. is PERFECTION. Liz Tomforde simply did not hold back when writing this series and she nailed every single aspect. I felt like I was living these books and I think about them pretty much every single day. I don’t know if another book series will ever top this one for me, and I’m perfectly happy with that. A million stars out of 5!!
